He completed his Orthopedic training in Boston at Tufts University Affiliated Hospitals and the Massachusetts General Hospital. He then completed the Maryland Fellowship in Reconstructive Spinal Surgery with Dr. Paul McAfee in Baltimore, Maryland, incorporating both orthopedic and neurosurgical spine training.

Joseph C. Flynn, M.D. received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia in 1951. He interned at Orange Memorial Hospital, Orlando, Florida. He completed his orthopedic residency at Jefferson Medical College Hospital.

Dr. Flynn trained at the Pennsylvania State Hospital for Crippled Children where he developed a lifelong love for children’s orthopedics and scoliosis.
